This is only done to replace existing service connections during the construction phase of capital water main replacement bid projects. In other instances, the property owner is responsible to have the service connection installed upon securing authorization from the Authority.
Submission of as-built plans, submission of leak detection report performed by a 3rd party, walk-thru inspection performed by Authority personnel and subsequent needed corrections to be performed by the developer/contractor and recording of formal deed of dedication (deed prepared by third party and reviewed by Authority staff).
The Authority only does the formal application process for Authority initiated capital or maintenance projects. Permitting needed by developers and/or private property owners is to be performed by an entity other than the Authority.
