The sewer pipe leaving your residence is called a sewer lateral. The sewer lateral extends from your residence to the connection point of the City of Lebanon Authority sewer main. The sewer lateral is privately owned and maintained by the property owner.
It depends. If it is intermittent, only backing up when you are using your facilities (toilet, showers, laundry, etc…), stop using your facilities and contact a plumber. If it is continuous when you aren’t using your facilities, contact the City of Lebanon Authority at 717-272-2841 – Monday through Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or at 717-507-6730 – Emergency Only - all other hours. If you reside outside the City limits, please contact your local municipality for assistance. You can still contact a plumber.
No. It is illegal to connect your sump pump into your sanitary lateral as it can cause serious problems.
Do not pour grease down drains or flush non-biodegradable products such as tampons, sanitary napkins, cleaning wipes, paper towels, prophylactics, diapers, etc.
