FAQ Water

The property owner is responsible for the water service from the curb stop (which is usually behind the curb or road edge) into the building. The property owner is responsible to make repairs to their portion of the water service line. Any repairs made underground prior to a meter will need to be inspected by a Water Authority employee.
We try to avoid this due to showing favoritism to one or more businesses. There are many good local businesses that would be able to assist you. We would recommend getting more than one estimate.
Milky or cloudy water is a sign of air that is trapped in your water line, either coming from the water main or somewhere in your house. Run cold water in a bathtub or sink for a period of time until it clears up. If the water does not clear up, please call the Water Maintenance Department.
That is caused by an airborne bacteria and is not related to the water quality.

1. Is this on the hot water side, cold water side or both?

  1. If it is only a hot water side issue, there could be a problem with the hot water heater and would need to be resolved by the property owner.
  2. If it is on the cold water side or both sides, run water in a tub or sink for a period of time (at least 5 minutes-all the way open). If the problem persists, contact the Water Maintenance Department.

2. Is the issue throughout the property or isolated to a certain fixture?
